Nikon 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5D ED-IF AF Nikkor
8 out of 10 points and recommendedThere is much to like about this lens. First, it works on both full frame and digital SLRs. If 18mm is not wide enough, I just put it on my film Nikon. Stopped down a couple stops it is great. Using it wide open at high ISOs, it is not sharp. This is only a problem inside in low light. The optical aberrations are easily corrected in PTLens. It is much better in this regard, than I was lead to believe.

Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor
9 out of 10 points and recommendedExcellent value for pricewide open performanceMy circa 1991 old 50mm f1.4 Nikkor's autofocus broke, I had a dilemma. I needed a lens that produced in focus images when used wider than f4. Since this focal length is not mainly used, did not want to big bucks for the faster f1.4 model. This lens was even better than I expected. Rarely do I miss shooting at f1.4

While the construction of this lens is not professional, it is much better than one would expect for the price. Also like the manual focus grip as well as the greater recessed front element. -
Nikon 85mm f/1.8G AF-S Nikkor
9 out of 10 points and recommendedsharpness at wider aperaturesautofocus could be betterI have recently found that I needed a fast tele lens. Was cropping too much using my 50mm. THis lens gave me a 70% magnification. What I did not expect was the image quality at wider aperatures. It is something to behold. Glad I decided to get this model, rather than the older D version.
