The Casio EXILIM Zoom EX-Z80 features a 3x optical zoom lens with a 38 - 114mm equivalent focal length, coupled to an 8.1 megapixel CCD. Images are framed and reviewed using a 114,960 pixel 2.6-inch LCD, and like most ultra-compacts, no optical viewfinder is provided.

The Casio EX-Z80's Auto Shutter function automatically records the moment of a smile or the instant when hand shake ceases, using motion blur detection technology. The Casio Z80 also includes face detection technology to simultaneously detect up to ten faces for optimal focus and exposure.

The camera offers iTunes-compatible H.264 video capture and it's possible to record movies in a wide format 16:9 aspect ratio. The Z80 also features a Movie Button which makes movie recording easy. Images are stored on SD, SDHC, or MMC cards, plus 12.4MB built-in memory, and the EX-Z80 derives its power from a custom lithium-ion battery pack.

The Casio EXILIM Zoom EX-Z80 digital camera lists at US$199.99. It begins shipping March 2008, and is available in six body colors -- pale pink, vivid pink, green, blue, black, and silver.
