Marking its 90th year in business, German camera manufacturer Rollei announced its new Flexline 100 inTOUCH digital camera. The Rollei FL100iT is an attractive ultracompact model based around a ten megapixel 1/2.5"-type CCD image sensor, which has a 4:3 aspect ratio. The FL100iT's imager sits behind a prism-folded 3x optical zoom lens, branded as a Rollei Apogon Prism Zoom.
The Flexline FL100iT's standout feature is its 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD panel, which dominates the rear of the camera. With the exception of the power and shutter controls, and four buttons lining the left of the LCD panel, all the FL100's functions are controlled through the touchscreen.
The Rollei Flexline 100 inTOUCH can capture still images at up to 3,648 x 2,736 pixel resolution, as well as VGA MotionJPEG movies. The Flexline 100 inTOUCH also offers a 30 frame-per-second burst mode, although the company hasn't stated at what resolutionthis is possible. The Flexline 100's zoom lens offers focal length equivalents from a not-so-generous 38mm wide angle to a 114mm telephoto. Maximum aperture varies from f/3.7 to f/4.2 across the zoom range.
Other features of the Rollei FL100 include face detection autofocus, a built-in flash strobe, USB connectivity, proprietary Lithium Ion power source, 32MB of built-in memory, and a MicroSD / MicroSDHC card slot.
