Closely related to several of the company's other recent S-series digital cameras, the Samsung Digimax S700 has a sensor resolution of seven megapixels coupled to a Samsung SHD-branded 35 - 105mm-equivalent 3x optical zoom lens. This provides a fairly standard zoom range from a moderate wide angle to a moderate telephoto, with maximum aperture varying from a fair F2.8 at wide angle to a somewhat dim F4.9 at telephoto. Macro focusing is to a minimum of five centimeters at wide angle.

The Samsung S700 also features a larger than average 2.4" LCD display with 112,000 pixels (but no optical viewfinder), a USB 2.0 Full-Speed connectivity that's rather slower than the USB 2.0 Hi-Speed connections offered on many modern digicams, 20MB of built-in memory, a minimum ISO sensitivity of 50, shutter speeds from 8 - 1/2000 second, a choice of 4:3 or an unusual wide 2:1 aspect ratio, a maximum of 5x digital zoom and 10.1x playback zoom, and a MotionJPEG movie mode in a relatively small and lighter body. Other features include multi and spot exposure metering, seven white balance modes, ten scene modes, and a five-mode built in flash. Samsung's Digimax S700 stores images on Secure Digital cards or the previously mentioned built-in memory. Power comes courtesy of AA batteries (with alkaline disposables in the product bundles), and the included software is Samsung Digimax Master.

The Samsung S700 digital camera ships from August 2006 priced at $250.
