Marketed towards the law enforcement, medical / dental and science fields, the Fujifilm IS-1 answers a problem infrared photographers have found with most existing digicams. Most manufacturers add built-in filters in their cameras that cut infrared light, preventing it from affecting regular photos adversely. 00:00 EST - One of four new digital camera announcements from the company today, Fujifilm's FinePix F40fd offers the same face detection functionality we've seen in a number of past Fujifilm models.

The FinePix F40fd includes ISO sensitivities as high as ISO 1600 equivalent (with ISO 2000 possible in two of the scene modes), courtesy of a sixth generation, eight megapixel Super CCD HR image sensor. 00:00 EST - Fujifilm U.S.A. Inc. has today announced two new entry-level digital cameras for its FinePix A-series lineup.

Featuring the higher specification of the two models, the Fujifilm FinePix A800 is based around an eight megapixel SuperCCD HR imager, with a maximum resolution of 3,296 x 2,472 pixels. The Pentax Optio E30 is an entry-level point and shoot camera following in the footsteps of the Optio E10 announced one year earlier.
