PRESS RELEASE: Breaking News: Phase One Software for Canon DSLR Cameras

Photokina 2002, Cologne, Germany, September 25, 2002: Phase One, known for providing the world's leading high-end digital camera solutions, announces today a new software package for Canon DSLR cameras. Phase One and Canon are joining forces in a new initiative that integrates Phase One's workflow-oriented software with Canon's DSLR cameras: EOS-1D as well as the brand new EOS-1Ds.

Phase One's versatile and user-friendly software is an integral part of its award-winning digital camera solutions and is one of the many reasons why Phase One camera backs are so popular. Phase One software is designed to match the high demands of a modern, professional studio: Exceptional image quality, workflow flexibility, and ease of use.

Phase One CEO, Henrik Håkonsson states: "Today most DSLR cameras are controlled by software that allows you to carry out image adjustments in a rather complex way. From now on Canon DSLR camera users can take advantage of workflow-oriented software enabling the creation of print-ready images with amazing quality in just a few simple steps. It's a straightforward process that saves a great deal of time for the busy press, social or fashion photographer, makes the workflow less complicated, and allows a high level of creativity. Soon we will offer similar benefits to Nikon, Fuji and Kodak DSLR users."

Henrik Håkonsson continues: " We have the best digital imaging software on the market. Phase One's patent-pending image processing algorithms allow Canon DSLR users to benefit from the highest image quality in the CCD or CMOS sensor class. This first partnership will ensure that more end-users can take advantage of its advanced features as well as its intuitive and user-friendly interface. We expect to acquire new market share within fashion, social and press photography based on this announcement."

Phase One is adding a new Portable Solution to its broad product palette by offering Phase One software first with Canon and later including Nikon, etc. DSLR cameras. Many Phase One owners already use DSLR cameras for location work and will find it very advantageous to be able to use the same software in the studio and on location. The solution starts shipping in November 2002.
