17:55 EDT - Our friends at the Digital Photography Review caught a glimpse of sun today, and wisely dashed for the Sigma stand to take the SD9 out for a spin in more hospitable weather.
Their results were much better than either of us managed in our previous attempts, so they've pulled their old sample images offline now and replaced them with the newer ones. (We're hoping to get a chance to do the same, but unfortunately Dave's meeting schedule conspired against getting the camera whilst it was nice and sunny.) 00:42 EDT - Belgian image sensor manufacturer FillFactory NV is the source of Kodak's CMOS image sensor that will be used to provide a jaw-dropping resolution of 13.85 megapixels in the new DCS Pro 14n digital camera, a press release reveals.
According to the release, the company has now begun shipments of the sensor, which it first started jointly working on with Kodak 18 months ago. Meanwhile, Israeli company Tower Semiconductor is producing ICs for the sensor using 0.5&pico;m CMOS technology.
