09:05 EDT - A press release from Komamura, the Japanese distributor for German camera company Rollei, announces a new limited edition variant of the RolleiFlex MiniDigi digital camera model it first announced in 2003.

Initially sold in a 1.3 megapixel variant, a slightly higher-res MiniDigi was launched in July 2004, and it is this unit which the new camera is identical to in all but color. The MiniDigi features the unusual choice of a two megpaixel square CMOS sensor, coupled with a 9mm fixed focus lens. The most impressive of Hasselblad's announcements has to be the 39 megapixel H3D medium format digital SLR - the world's first with a full 48mm frame-sized image sensor, to be priced at €24,900 (roughly equivalent to US$31,500 ignoring exchange rate fluctuations, taxes and duties and rounded to the nearest $500). Big city, small cars. But in Cologne, small cars are really small cars. The diminutive Smart cars can be parked sideways and are very popular. There's even a quite sporty version.
