Pentax announces new *ist DS variant (UPDATED) By
Michael R. Tomkins, The Imaging Resource (Monday, February 14, 2005 - 01:06 EST)Pentax's third pre-PMA announcement of the day isn't a new camera per se - instead, the company is to release a new variation on an existing model.
The Pentax *ist DS, first announced last September in a black bodied version, will soon ship in another version sporting silver and black body panels. Specifications of the *ist DS Silver are otherwise identical to the existing version.
Pricing and availability for the Pentax *ist DS Silver have not yet been announced. Full specifications for the *ist DS can be found in our earlier news item.
UPDATED 2005-02-14 12:02: According to our contacts at Pentax USA, there are no plans to bring this variant of the *ist DS to the US market at this time.
