On SanDisk's booth at this year's show, the company presented a number of new storage products that set new capacity highs, or brought new features to make them easier to use.

Amongst the announcements of interest to owners of products based on Sony's Memory Stick Duo media were the two gigabyte Memory Stick PRO Duo, bringing the company's offerings to 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1GB and 2GB cards. SanDisk also introduced a new line of high-speed Ultra II Memory Stick PRO Duo cards, available in 512MB, 1GB and 2GB capacities.

For owners of Secure Digital-based products, SanDisk is now offering the Ultra II SD Plus card, which 'folds' in the middle to reveal a connector that plugs directly into a USB slot, allowing the card to be offloaded without the need for a media reader (and also allowing the card to function as an extremely small USB 2.0 High-Speed flash drive). SanDisk estimates speeds for the Ultra II SD Plus cards as 9MB/second for writing, and 10MB/second for reading. They'll be offered in 512MB and 1GB capacities initially.

For users of CompactFlash-based cameras, SanDisk introduced a 128MB version of its Shoot & Store CompactFlash card, a low-cost variant of the regular CompactFlash card which can only be written to once (after which images are permanently stored on the card for later viewing). Other announcements included a Shoot & Store-compatible version of the SanDisk Photo Album, which allows users to create slide-shows of their images, and view them on a connected television. The company also introduced a new plastic jewel case identical in size to that of a standard CD case, which can hold up to four CompactFlash or eight Secure Digital / xD-Picture cards, obviously targeted at users of shoot and store who will want a way to carefully store their used cards safely for later viewing of the photos.
