Yes, there was the free Wynn Hotel shuttle from the Las Vegas Convention Center to Treasure Island Hotel where the Imaging Resource news crew would be attending Pepcom's DigitalFocus preview event. On our way back from IDC's breakfast meeting, we stopped in at the PMA Trade Show just before the show opened. We ran through the second floor first and then went down to the ground floor to catch a glimpse of the show before the aisles filled. The General Electric G1 offers seven megapixel resolution, a 2.5" LCD display, and a 3x optical zoom lens that looks to be prism-folded so as to keep the entirity of the lens inside the camera body. 13:30 EST - Continuing its 2007 Photo Marketing Show Spring tradeshow debut, General Imaging has launched four digital cameras for the new General Electric E-series.

The General Electric E850, E1030, E1040 and E1240 all feature fairly similar styling. The first model is the GE E850, featuring eight megapixel resolution, a larger-than-average 3.0" LCD display, and a generous 5x optical zoom lens. 13:30 EST - Alongside its announcement today of four series of new digital cameras, General Imaging has announced its first photo printer model.

Branded as the General Electric P1, General Imaging's first printer is a 4800 x 1200 dpi inkjet. The GE P1 uses CMY pigment inks, and takes 75 - 105 seconds per print, depending on the settings used. Media capacity is 25 sheets of A6, using either photo or glossy papers. The Sony DSC-G1 has a body design that features a horizontally sliding panel that functions both as protection for the lens when closed, and as a power control to switch the camera on when opened. 12:10 EST - Hewlett Packard has today announced three new digital camera models for its Photosmart series - the HP Photosmart M437, M537, and R837.

Of the three, the HP Photosmart R837 is perhaps the most interesting. Where past HP cameras have tended to all follow a fairly similar theme styling-wise, the HP R837 is a bit of a departure for the company in that it has a vertically sliding panel on the front of the camera body that (when closed) offers protection for the lens. 11:08 EST - Eastman Kodak Co. has announced four new digital camera models for its EasyShare series at the Photo Marketing Association tradeshow in Las Vegas.

Of the four, the entry point looks to be the Kodak EasyShare C613, a six megapixel camera with Kodak-branded 3x optical zoom lens, 2.4" LCD display, and 10MB of built-in memory. Pasini Reports: Sneaking a Peek

03:45 EST - We ran the gamut at Sneak Peek, covering everything from sensor cleaners to tripod heads, camera bags to Wireless USB, fine art papers to GPS modules -- and more. Nothing was safe from us.

For three hours this afternoon, over 400 members of the press wandered from table to table viewing over 100 companies' offerings at PMA Sneak Peek. Imaging Resource did more than wander with two video crews and two still photographers. Sneak Peek, traditionally scheduled around lunch on the day before PMA begins, offers a venue for exhibitors to meet with members of the press and demonstrate their latest products. It seems that every year, Sneak Peek has grown larger. For 2007, there were around 110 different exhibitors in attendance!
