Halse Imaging Systems Software Supports FinePix S5Pro Camera with Bar Code Scanner; Workflow Software Delivers Increased Productivity and Quality for Labs

Valhalla, NY, January 24, 2008 - FUJIFILM U.S.A., Inc. today announced its new School and Event Photography Shooting Software solution, and new workflow software for finishing labs. The shooting software solutions are designed to help professional event photographers link images together with data and products, and the workflow software allows finishing labs to streamline workflow and improve picture quality. With this announcement, Fujifilm reaffirms its commitment to the photofinishing market by providing software that supports the best imaging solutions on the market.

ID Link Software
Image Data Link, provided by Halse Imaging Systems, is ideal for professional, school and event photographers who wish to shoot in camera-tethered mode. Image Data Link can run on a laptop, tethered to a supported digital camera via a hot folder, and is used to link student data with the images that are captured. Linking image to data records is accomplished by synching a prepared shoot list with optional bar-coded sitting-cards. The photographer can immediately reject and re-shoot a portrait and change student data associated with each image and can photograph an entire school with database to image file integrity. Also available is the ability to produce onsite proofs or ID cards and easily enter print package selections. With ID Link a photographer can easily record images and encrypted data to a CD or DVD for print ordering and can generate a school CD of student images that have been downsized and renamed using up to four fields of student data.

ID Merge Software
Image Data Merge, by Halse Imaging Systems, is another application for use by professional, school and event market photographers. The software is used to merge student database information with images that are captured in an un-tethered mode. With Fujifilm's FinePix S5 Pro digital camera set in Bar Code mode, and using a hand-held scanner attached to the camera, ID Merge makes it possible for the photographer to quickly shoot un-tethered student images and capture related Bar Code data directly into the image file. ID Merge can then generate gallery sheets of students that are easily merged with student data. Photographers can quickly set product quantity, crop for each image, set flags for preferred images and retouch photos.

LS LiteBox
LS LiteBox by Halse Imaging Systems is a database-driven digital production system for professional photo lab operations, including support of orders created with fulfillment of ID Link and ID Merge software. Fujifilm will provide several versions, depending on the specific industry needs, including School Photography, Pro Labs, Cruise Ships and Crime Labs. The system provides output to Frontier laser printers as well as to a wide variety of output devices, and integrates the entire digital production system to improve productivity.

LS LiteBox offers dynamic templates to allow images to be combined with different backgrounds, overlays, masks and text fields, creating a wide range of products for the end consumer. It is compatible with ROES, allowing products to be uploaded and images and orders to be downloaded for final corrections to each image node before rendering by LiteBox system. It also has an optional "Export to Web" module that allows labs to upload images to the Internet so that customers can place orders via their web browser.

Image Intelligence™ Professional
An option for the LiteBox system, is Fujifilm's Image Intelligence™ Professional, a professional color and image correction tool designed to offer automatic analysis and adjustment of individual images. Based on Fujifilm's Image Intelligence™ technology, this tool makes it easier for the lab to correct images allowing the professional photographers to spend more time on picture-taking, rather than picture correction. Image Intelligence Professional is designed to be integrated into LiteBox workflow, providing auto correction for image files that can be printed in a variety of sizes and formats.

Fujifilm's Image Intelligence technology is the integration of vast image analysis, evaluation and processing know-how that Fujifilm has amassed over many years of experience in industries and applications as diverse as medical imaging, graphic arts and photography. The resulting technology incorporated into many Fujifilm products and includes a series of software utilities collectively known as Image Intelligence. Among the key Image Intelligence features event photographers will see in this product are excellent color correction and smoothing of skin tones, that reproduce images exactly as the photographer saw the subject when the picture was taken.
