Photo Marketing Association InternationalLive Tradeshow Coverage
Jan 31 - Feb 2, 2008
Las Vegas Convention Center, NV
Welcome to Imaging Resource’s PMA 2008 Tradeshow Coverage. PMA is the photo industry's most important show of the year, and this year we're pulling out all the stops: More videos, more news reports, more booth photos - nobody covers PMA like Imaging Resource! The 2008 camera model year actually began with the CES show in Las Vegas, so you'll find photo news from that show below, until it's supplanted by pre-PMA announcements. Check back often, this will be an exciting year at PMA, and IR is dedicating more resources than ever before to bringing you all the latest from the show floor!

CF Association booth report posted!
16:20 EST - On the CompactFlash Association's booth at the 2008 Photo Marketing Association tradeshow, the new connectors and packaging for a new variant of the CompactFlash card were on display.
The CF Association is currently working on a specification dubbed "CFast", which is essentially a CompactFlash card with revised connectors and packaging, and based around the SATA (Serial ATA) inferface. The new cards will not be able to fit into a standard CF slot, however they should offer the potential for significant throughput increases over traditional CF cards. To see what information the... Casio booth report posted!
15:59 EST - Rather than doing so at PMA, Casio made its announcements at the Consumer Electronics Show in early January.
The company launched a total of five new digital camera models, and all were on display on the company's PMA 2008 booth. This includes what we have to say is among the most interesting models launched so far this year, the Casio EXILIM Pro EX-F1. A year later, and General Imaging has launched nine new cameras, although only eight were actually on display at the company's PMA 2008 booth. All of the new models are closely related to existing GE-branded digicams, but with some tweaks to the specifications (and some new features for the 2008 model year, such as smile / blink detection). To see what's new since last year, read our General Imaging... (More)

Samsung booth report posted!
21:25 EST - Next up in our tour of this year's Photo Marketing Association tradeshow booths is Korea's Samsung Techwin Co. Ltd.

The company still had a fair selection of these latest camera models on display, even if they weren't technically announced at PMA though. Samsung has already announced a mind-boggling thirteen new digital cameras so far this year, including one... (More)

The report contains a total of 34 images, among which you'll find coverage of 21 new products announced by Canon at the Photo Marketing Association tradeshow (or in some cases, at the Consumer Electronics Show just a couple of weeks earlier).
