Sony Press Conference: Flagship Model

Sony today announced further details on its upcoming flagship digital SLR, which will officially be announced later this year. The flagship is set to feature the company's just-announced full-frame 24.6 megapixel Exmor CMOS image sensor, a Bionz-branded image processor and Super SteadyShot in-camera image stabilization. A mockup or early prototype of Sony's Alpha flagship model is on display on Sony's booth. The banner in the background, which promises the new model will be coming this year, lists some of the high points. A 24.6 megapixel full-frame size CMOS sensor (Exmor-branded), ultra-high speed Bionz image processor, "astonishing image clarity and detail", Super SteadyShot In-Camera Stabilization, a powerful new flash unit, new lenses, and a vertical grip (these accessories all to be sold separately).
