G.Bros design updated with new 2 megapixel imager...

Casio Computer Co. Ltd. in Japan has announced an update to its G.Bros GV-10 digital camera, which was first announced in October 2001. It isn't clear whether the older camera will continue to be sold, but specifications for the new GV-20 model are almost identical - in fact the only change we spotted other than the use of a 2 megapixel imager (the GV-10 was 1 megapixel) is that the battery life specifications have been reduced somewhat. This could be due to higher power consumption by the new imager, or a change in the test environment to give more realistic results.

The Casio G.Bros GV-20 digital camera is certified waterproof when water is sprayed at the camera from any direction, or when it is immersed up to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes. It is also dustproof for particles with a diameter of 75µ or less. In Japan the camera will ship in a month's time, on July 12th, and monthly production will be 10,000 units. Two colors are available - one with red detailing, and one with black. Pricing has not been announced at this time, nor has US availability (the GV-10 is available currently in the US at a cost of $349 list).
