Software enables users to print high-quality layouts of digital images and photos

Victoria, British Columbia - September 11, 2002 - ACD Systems International Inc. (TSE:ASA), the digital imaging company, today announced that FotoSlate™ 2.0, a software product that enables users to print high-quality layouts of their digital images and photos, will be released in French, German, Italian and Spanish languages and markets. This expanded release follows the successful release of the English and Japanese versions of FotoSlate 2.0 as well as the localized version of ACDSee™ 4.0 in these global markets.

FotoSlate enables users to create multi-image page layouts easily by dragging and dropping images onto printing templates. Users of FotoSlate 2.0 can create, save, and print professional-looking contact sheets and layouts of their digital photos by either choosing from over 450 print templates, or by designing their own custom-made template. The end result is that users will save time and money printing only the photos they want - in the size, layout and style that they want.

Home printing continues to be the leading method for digital camera users to obtain prints of their photos. A November, 2001 study by InfoTrends Research group notes that 83% of digital camera users surveyed said that they printed their digital photos at home, an increase from 2000. The study also showed that 81% of consumers who plan to buy a digital camera say they plan to print at home.

Chair & CEO of ACD Systems, Doug Vandekerkhove said, "International markets are a significant area of revenue generation and growth for ACD Systems with over 50% of our revenue coming from outside of North America. The localization of FotoSlate 2.0 will enable us to continue to build our market share in these growing markets by meeting the needs of the increasing number of digital camera owners who want to expand their image printing capabilities."

French, German, Italian and Spanish versions of FotoSlate 2.0 are available for purchase from the company's web site for $29.95 USD, or €34.44. FotoSlate 2.0 is available as a stand-alone product and as a plug-in that extends the printing capabilities of ACDSee™ versions 3.1 SR-1 or later.
