Canon Inc. has released a new version of firmware for its EOS D60 digital camera.

Firmware Update Version 1.0.2 has two changes noted:
"EOS D60 Firmware Version 1.0.4 resolves the following issues, which may occur in the RAW mode depending on shutter release timing:
  1. Thumbnail is black. Only the thumbnail image is affected, there is no problem with the main image.
  2. 2. Data is not written to CF card (or microdrive). With EOS D60 cameras that have Firmware Version 1.0.0, 1.0.1 or 1.0.2 installed, in cases where data stored in the camera's buffer memory has not yet been written to the CF card or microdrive, that data will be written when the menu button is pressed, or when the shutter button is pressed halfway."

For more information on the firmware update and how to install it, hop on over to the Canon BeBit website.

As always, be sure to follow the upgrade instructions to the letter, or risk turning your expensive digital camera into an even more expensive paperweight. ;)
