Review roundup: Sony P72 / V1, Nikon SQ

With PMA fast approaching and cameras being announced at a blinding rate (we're still reeling from the 10 - yes, *10* - cameras announced by Sony!) it is time for a quick roundup of new reviews around the web from the last few days.

Steve's Digicams have taken a look at Nikon's Coolpix SQ; being a first-look there's no conclusion. Nor are there sample pictures, since the camera is a pre-production model. That said, there's still plenty of interest, including a good look at the camera's design and layout, menu structure, etc.

Steve has also posted a first-look of the Sony DSC-V1. Again, no samples or conclusion, but plenty of good info on this interesting-looking camera...

Our friend Jeff Keller from the Digital Camera Resource Page meanwhile, has taken a look at the just-announced Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P72. There are sample photos aplenty, as well as a conclusion. In brief, Jeff says:
"The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P71 was a camera I recommended last year, and I like this year's DSC-P72 even more. It offers just about everything you could want in a camera: great pictures, robust performance, easy-to-use menus, a superb movie mode, and more."
The good folks at the Digital Eye website have also taken a look at the DSC-P72, and have posted two gallery pages of sample photos taken at Disneyland. Dave Kamanski's comments are quite detailed, and there's not really a conclusion that lends itself to offering a summary of his thoughts here, so if you want to know what he thinks then be sure to read his news page... :)
