Here's another review update for you, with full test photos, performance measurements, and analysis.

This time, it's the Olympus C-740 UltraZoom, the "little brother" to the C-750UZ that I just did the update for as well. As with the C-750, there's a lot to like here: The main differences relative to the higher-end model are 3.2 vs 4.0 megapixels, no flash hot shoe, and no sound recording. All else is pretty much identical, but for a lower price.

If you want to get into long-zoom digital photography on a budget, the C-740 looks like an excellent way to go. Great color and tone, loads of features, and a lens that's much sharper and has less distortion than most of the long zooms I've reviewed in the past. Look for the 740UZ in stores sometime toward the end of April. - If you're interested in a long zoom, the 740 deserves serious consideration. Check it out!
