New image sharing database saves corporations time and money

Victoria, British Columbia - April 14, 2002 - ACD Systems International Inc. (TSX: ASA), the digital imaging company, today announced the availability of ACD AutoShare™, an image database sharing solution for the corporate market that integrates with the company's ACDSee 5.0™ and ACD mPower Tools™ products. The development of ACD AutoShare is in line with other ACD Systems specialized corporate initiatives such as ACD Floating License System and ACD Corporate Site License, and demonstrates the company's continued commitment to offering corporations innovative and cost-saving solutions to meet their evolving needs.

ACD AutoShare allows multiple users to work together by sharing images and related information over a local area network. ACD AutoShare effectively allows users within an organization to search and sort images in one or more shared databases using keywords, descriptions, notes, date and time, author and categories. ACD AutoShare saves corporations time and money by featuring a user-friendly interface that runs on standard office computers without requiring server hardware or the assistance of specialized information systems professionals commonly required by other database sharing solutions.

ACD AutoShare is a stand-alone application that can be licensed through either of the company's licensing models - ACD Floating License System or ACD Corporate Site License. ACD Floating License System allows corporations to purchase licenses for only the maximum number of people that will use ACDSee at the same time, while still giving all employees in the organization access to ACDSee and other ACD products and plug-ins. In contrast, ACD Corporate Site License allows corporations to install ACDSee and other ACD products and plug-ins on all workstations with no restriction on the maximum number of simultaneous users.

"The development of ACD AutoShare was in response to our corporate clients requesting a cost-effective image database sharing solution that works over local area networks, " said Mike Zelen, president and chief executive officer of ACD Systems. "ACD Systems continues to offer value to the corporate marketplace by tailoring our products to meet particular corporate needs."

Price and Availability
ACD AutoShare is $199.95 USD and $9.95 USD per user and is now available through the company's Web site at www.ACDSYSTEMS.com.
