iPhoto Buddy 1.1.1 Released
By Mike Pasini, The Imaging Resource
(Friday, June 27, 2003 - 10:52 EDT)

iPhoto Buddy allows the use of more than one photo library with Apple's iPhoto 2.0.

Rick Neil has released iPhoto Buddy 1.1.1, a free Mac OS X utility to use more than one photo library with iPhoto 2.0.

"I developed iPhoto Buddy for my own use," Neil notes. "I did so partly as a programming project, and partly because I simply didn't care for the other alternatives I had tried. I wanted something more -- something fast, flexible, unobtrusive, and easy to use. And something in keeping with the spirit of the iApp interface found in iPhoto, iTunes, iMovie, iCal, etc."

The iPhoto Buddy interface was inspired by iPhoto itself, Neil said. "Anyone that has used iPhoto will immediately feel right at home using iPhoto Buddy. It truly is a companion application--a real buddy!"

iPhoto Buddy lists your available iPhoto libraries for selection, automatically quiting iPhoto and relaunching it with the new library. There is no limit to the number of libraries and they can be stored anywhere. You can also assign unique names to them.

OS X 10.2.4, iPhoto 2.0 and 5-MB of disk space are required to run iPhoto Buddy.
