Rollei announces 3.1mpix, 3x zoom digicam

We hear today that a new digital camera will shortly be coming from a classic name in the world of photography - German manufacturer Rollei.
Our friends at Dutch website LetsGoDigital.nl have picked up news of the Rollei dc3100, a model featuring a 1/2.7" 3.1 megapixel image sensor, resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, and a 3x optical zoom which focuses from 50cm to infinity (10 - 50cm in Macro mode). Other features include automatic exposure and white balance, 5-mode flash, 1.5-inch LCD display, 320 x 240 pixel video clip mode, video out connectivity, 16MB of built-in memory, Secure Digital / MultiMediaCard storage and a 4x digital zoom.
The Rollei dc3100 will be available in Europe next month. No information is currently available from Rollei USA on plans for this country.
