HP announces two new all-in-one printers By

(Thursday, August 14, 2003 - 07:56 EDT)Hewlett Packard Co. has announced two new all-in-ones, devices which feature the functions of a printer, scanner, fax machine and copier in a single piece of hardware.
Both the PSC 2410 and PSC 2510 support Memory Stick, Compact Flash, Secure Digital, Multimediacard, xD-Picture Card and SmartMedia memory cards through slots in the front of the chassis, and have built-in 2.5-inch color LCD displays for previewing images to be printed, etc.
The print engine is similar in both printers, but the more expensive PSC 2510 model adds ethernet and wireless LAN connectivity over its lower-spec sibling (note that HP PSC 2410's spec sheet lists the Ethernet / Wireless module as bundled as well, but we believe this is an error). Oddly, the wireless LAN function can only recognize 5 PCs, which we'd have thought rather limiting. The PSC 2510 also adds the ability to seek through a video clip on the LCD display, and print specific frames from the video on the printer.
The HP PSC 2410 Photosmart All-in-One will ship in September at a price of $299, and the PSC 2510 PhotoSmart All-in-One will follow in October at a price of $399.
