PRESS RELEASE: Desktop Designs Releases SlideShow Desktop
View full screen photo slide shows on your Windows Desktop
Solihull, UK (November 17, 2003) - Desktop Designs announces the release of SlideShow Desktop 2.8. If you have a digital camera packed full of photos you can't wait to share with your friends, or a collection of photos and wallpaper images on your computer, SlideShow Desktop will show your photos at their best.
Creating a slide show is as simple as selecting a drive, folder, or your digital camera's memory stick from the SlideShow browse window and pressing play. You can specify the interval between each slide change and modify each photo's filename, orientation and display size during playback. The interval between slide changes is configurable in milliseconds, seconds, minutes and hours. Not restricted to jpg, gif and bmp, SlideShow Desktop can display 14 popular image file formats on your Windows desktop.
Additionally, SlideShow Desktop has a wealth of features for managing your desktop wallpaper, modifying your desktop appearance, emailing your photos to friends and printing your photos (great for creating photo enlargements and posters). Its integration with Windows Explorer and the Windows shell makes printing your photos and changing the appearance of your desktop as simple as possible.
"With SlideShow Desktop 2.8," said Desktop Designs' Creative Director, Jason Jennings, "we wanted to give people a fast, easy and entertaining way to view and manipulate their digital photos and wallpaper images, removing all of the repetitive tasks that are often involved with using computers. Since July 2001, we have strived to provide users with a consistent and intuitive software interface, built on top of a comprehensive set of features of benefit to the largest number of users. While we feel we have been successful in doing this, the software is updated regularly to reflect our users interests and incorporate their requests".
SlideShow Desktop will run under Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 6a), Windows 2000, Windows XP & Windows Server 2003. It requires Internet Explorer version 5 or later, and 5 megabytes of disk space for installation.
SlideShow Desktop also operates on any of the above operating systems run virtually through VMware Workstation.
