A press release on the website of Sigma Corporation Japan notes that a planned update to the Camera Raw Plugin for Photoshop CS will add support for the X3F (RAW) file format used by the Sigma SD9 and SD10 digital SLRs.

The updated plugin should be available by June 2004, and Sigma's press release suggests that the X3F format won't be the only one being added. The Adobe Camera Raw plugin was recently updated to add support for the Fujifilm FinePix F700, FinePix S5000Z and FinePix S7000Z; Kodak DCS 720x, DCS760 and DCS14n; Leaf Valeo 22; Leica Digilux 2, Nikon D2H, the Olympus C-5060 Zoom and E-1; Panasonic DMC-LC1; the Pentax *ist D; and Sony DSC-F828. A full list of the currently supported cameras can be found on the Adobe Photoshop CS website.

Original Source Press Release:

RAW (X3F) File Format of SIGMA SD9 and SD10 Digital SLR cameras to be supported by Adobe® Photoshop® CS

The RAW (X3F) file format of Sigma's digital SLR (Single Lens Reflex) cameras will be supported by the Adobe Photoshop CS camera raw plug-in in a future, free update planned for release before the end of June 2004.

The planned update to the camera raw plug-in will extend compatibility to a wider range of digital camera raw formats, including those based on the Foveon X3 sensor. The updated plug-in will make it possible to view and process SD9 and SD10 Original RAW(X3F) files directly in Adobe Photoshop CS. For updated news on the latest version of the camera raw plug-in, customers should check the Adobe Web site.
