Kodak: 3 new EasyShare cameras, camera dock By

Tomkins, The Imaging Resource (Tuesday, May 4, 2004 - 03:28 EDT)Eastman Kodak Co. will today announce three new digital camera models for its EasyShare line, ranging from three to five megapixels and all featuring optical zoom lenses (the announcement was scheduled for 8am Eastern time, however since several other sites have gone ahead with the news already, the information is now in the public domain and hence we're posting it too).
The Kodak EasyShare DX7440 is a 4.23 megapixel model with a Schneider Kreuznach Variogon 4x optical zoom lens. Other features include 32MB of internal memory, an SD/MMC card slot, 2.2-inch indoor/outdoor LCD display, orientation sensor, NTSC / PAL video out, Lithium Ion rechargeable battery and an MPEG4 video function.
The remaining two cameras share an identical body and lens seen previously on Kodak's CX7430 model (announced just prior to PMA), but with differing imagers and other options. While the Kodak EasyShare CX7330 and CX7530 both feature a Kodak Retinar 3x optical zoom lens, the effective focal length varies between models due to differences in sensor sizes, with the CX7330 offering an effective 37 - 117mm and the CX7530 offering 34 - 102mm equivalent. The CX7330 features a 1.6-inch LCD display, and the CX7530 upgrades this to a 1.8-inch display - both displays being hybrid indoor/outdoor types. Other features differentiating the models include improved movie functionality and more manual controls on the higher model.
Also announced alongside the new cameras is an updated EasyShare Printer Dock, featuring PictBridge compatibility and a 4" x 6" thermal print mechanism. The new Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock will ship in June with pricing set at $149. The Kodak EasyShare CX7330 will ship in June at a cost of US$199, followed in July by the CX7530 for $299. The DX7440 will round out the group at a price of $349, and June availability.
