Ricoh announces Caplio GX By

The Ricoh Caplio GX is a metal-bodied five megapixel model with a wide-angle 28-85mm equivalent 3x optical zoom lens, and offers an impressive 1cm minimum macro focusing distance.As with some of the company's other cameras, the Caplio GX is noteable for an impressively short shutter lag time - just 0.12 seconds. Other features include a 130,000 pixel 1.8-inch LCD display, optical viewfinder, built-in flash , hot shoe for external flash strobes, 16MB of built-in memory and Secure Digital card storage.
The Ricoh Caplio GX will go on sale tomorrow in Japan, with pricing set at ¥70,000 (approximately equivalent to US$621 / €517 / CAD$855 / £349, ignoring exchange rate fluctuations, taxes and duties). Full specifications and a product photo courtesy of Ricoh follow:
