PRESS RELEASE: New KODAK EASYSHARE Software Version 4.0 Makes Organizing, Sharing, and Printing Digital Pictures a Snap

Available for Free Download at www.kodak.com/go/easysharesw

KODAK EASYSHARE software is the simple, all-in-one way for any digital camera owner to organize, share, and print their digital pictures. New features in version 4 for WINDOWS and MACINTOSH OS ― including album uploading and synchronization with Ofoto, optional VCD and DVD burning, and free Ofoto-powered e-mail ― make it easier than ever to tell stories though pictures.

EASYSHARE software works with popular image and digital video file formats, regardless of what brand camera was used to take the digital pictures. The free, full-featured download is available by visiting www.kodak.com/go/easysharesw.

NEW FEATURES HIGHLIGHTS

E-mail Pictures with all the Power of Ofoto. When e-mailing pictures directly from EASYSHARE software, recipients will now receive a link to an OFOTO online album, where they can view the pictures, order prints and photo gifts, and even print the pictures at home. This helps eliminate the worries commonly associated with e-mail attachments, including large file sizes and virus threats.

Keep Your Albums Synchronized. With a touch of the Express Upload button, complete picture albums can be transferred in just minutes to Ofoto, preserving the album names, picture ordering, and even captions. When additional photos are placed within a previously uploaded software album, another press of this button uploads those new images to Ofoto, keeping online and offline albums in synch.

Share Your Pictures on DVD Players. EASYSHARE software v4.0 users can now share their stories on television, courtesy of video CD (VCD) and DVD burning with Sonic's MyDVD application (15-day VCD burning trial; additional charges apply for full VCD and DVD applications). Simply put pictures in the order desired, choose an accompanying soundtrack, and burn the disc. Both VCDs and DVDs will play in most DVD players.

Make Inkjet Prints Look Phenomenal. Both MACINTOSH and WINDOWS OS users can now experience Kodak's One Touch to Better Pictures feature. This takes advantage of proprietary color technologies developed by Kodak to help people get vibrant, true-to-life prints from home inkjet printers, while significantly reducing the costly trial, error and waste usually associated with home photo printing.

ALL-IN-ONE SIMPLICITY

Viewing. View digital images on-screen as thumbnails (miniatures), full- or partial-screen, or in a full-screen slide show.

Organizing. EASYSHARE software version 4 can organize up to 10,000 digital pictures and videos. Use the album feature, or rely on the automatic date sorting function to view all photos from a particular day, month, or year. Drag and drop pictures into a preferred order to help best tell a story.

Editing. Just a few editing tools are used by the vast majority of digital camera owners - red-eye reduction, cropping for popular print sizes, brightness and exposure compensation, zoom, fun effects - and KODAK EASYSHARE software version 4 includes them all. It also includes an enhance tool, which improves digital pictures with just one touch. These tools are only a mouse click away when viewing a full-screen picture, eliminating the need to hunt through endless menus and sub-menus.

Digital Sharing. The power of a photo is a person's ability to share it. EASYSHARE software includes new, built-in e-mail powered by Ofoto, making it simple to send pictures around the corner, or around the world in the blink of an eye. This capability transforms ordinary e-mail into a true sharing experience. By selecting a group of pictures and clicking the E-mail tab, pictures are uploaded to Ofoto, and personalized invitations are sent to visit the online album. Friends and family can then view the pictures, order prints and photo gifts, or print the pictures on a home printer directly from the Web. The new Express Upload feature takes this one step further, permitting entire album uploads and synchronization. Or burn a CD, video CD, or DVD to share with others at the touch of a button.

Print Sharing. EASYSHARE software makes it simple to take advantage of the many options that Kodak provides for printing digital pictures. With KODAK Picture Papers and the exclusive One Touch to Better Pictures feature - which takes advantage of color technologies only available from Kodak - people can get vibrant, true-to-life prints from home inkjet printers. The software can also print to KODAK EASYSHARE printer docks for durable, water resistant 4 x 6-inch KODAK photos. Both options offer a large number of pre-set page layouts, taking the hassle out of trying to fit photos on one or even multiple pages.

If someone prefers the convenience of home delivery for their prints, EASYSHARE software provides options to send pictures to more than 50 online photofinishers worldwide. Likewise, people can effortlessly burn a CD-R of their favorite pictures, and then bring it to a local store to make prints using KODAK Picture Maker kiosks, or give it to a sales associate at the photo counter with a print order.

AVAILABILITY

EASYSHARE software is available for free download from Kodak.com in 10 languages: Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. It works with images from most digital cameras: JPG, BMP and TIF still picture formats, and MOV and AVI video formats.
