Dave Etchells, The Imaging Resource (Friday, January 14, 2005 - 23:17 EST)After a looong hiatus, I've finally dusted off my battery test setup, and started testing NiMH AA cells again.
The latest results are posted on my NiMH Battery Shootout page, with Energizer finally edging out longtime champ Powerex for the top spot, albeit not by a large margin. Thanks to our friends at Thomas Distributing, I have a 'passle of other cells awaiting test, and I'm slowly cranking through them. Hopefully, the next update will happen a little quicker than the year-plus since the previous one! (I'm sure it will, but a lot will depend on how quickly we get inundated with new digital cameras to test, as we head into the 2005 season.) It's pretty amazing, the current top contenders in the NiMH derby pack fully 50% more power per charge than the best units back when I first started this testing nearly three years ago. Check it out!
