Hitachi announces 5mpix 3x zoom digicam By
Michael R. Tomkins, The Imaging Resource (Monday, March 7, 2005 - 16:31 EST)Hitachi Japan has today announced a new digital camera model coupling a 32 - 96mm equivalent 3x optical zoom lens with a five megapixel CCD imager.
The Hitachi i.mega HDC-531 features an ultracompact brushed metal body that is just under an inch thick when the lens is retracted. The camera stores images on Secure Digital cards, with a relatively generous 64MB card included in the product bundle. Power comes courtesy of a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery.
The new model will go on sale from March 18th, and pricing has not currently been disclosed.
