Nikon Wireless Lighting System video posted

From the "it's about time" file, I'm pleased to *finally* post a video from PMA, showing how we used Nikon's Wireless Lighting System to shoot studio-quality product photos right from the show floor.

I suspect that Nikon's engineers had something a lot more creative in mind when they developed their Wireless Lighting System, but it proved to be a real godsend for our on-site product photography at the Spring 2005 PMA show. The SB-800 and SB-600 strobes look like standard on-camera flash units, but their capabilities go way beyond anything most of us would expect from such compact light heads. At the PMA show, we used an SB-800 and three SB-600 units with a portable soft box to shoot the bulk of our product photos, avoiding the poorly focused, badly-lit product shots that had previously been the rule for trade-show coverage. The SB-800 and SB-600's let us control the light output from the flash heads independently, working just from the rear panel of the SB-800 attached to the camera. Really an amazing setup, capable of far more than my own limited creative abilities could exercise. For our purposes though, it worked like a dream. Visit our PMA Video page to see the "Nikon Wireless Lighting System at Work" video!
