Hewlett Packard has quietly introduced a new digital camera model on its US website that slightly updates its existing Photosmart M417 model.

The HP Photosmart M517 is nearly identical to its predecessor, featuring the same imager, lens, viewfinder, flash, and storage media. The differences are in the camera body (redesigned slightly to accomodate a slightly larger LCD display), as well as in the built-in memory (doubled to 32MB), and the digital zoom function (increased to 8x). Since no official press release has announced the camera for the US market, no pricing and availability information are available at this time.
