Rollei announces new digicams By
Michael R. Tomkins, The Imaging Resource (Thursday, July 14, 2005 - 15:15 EDT)Rollei Europe has quietly announced two new digital cameras for that market, although we've only managed to obtain a press release for one of the models.
The Rollei dp6200 and dp8300 are both compact point and shoot models with 3x optical zoom lenses, differing mainly in the styling and choice of imager used. The Rollei dp6200 is slightly smaller and lighter, and features a 1/1.8" CCD imager with 6.36 megapixel resolution, while the dp8300 upgrades this to an 8.1 megapixel imager. Both cameras offer NTSC/PAL and USB connectivity and store images on Secure Digital cards, with 64MB cards included in the product bundles.
The Rollei dp6200 will ship later this month, with pricing set at €299 including value added tax. We don't currently have information on plans for sale in other markets, nor do we have pricing or availability information for the dp8300 model.
