Olympus USA has this week updated its Evolt digital SLR firmware to version 1.3, with several useful changes.

According to Olympus, the new firmware incorporates all updates through version 1.2, plus the following:
  • It is now possible to set the interval between pressing a button and when the control dial can be operated.
  • Stability of Digital ESP and Center-weighted average metering has been improved.
  • Two scene modes, Underwater Macro and Underwater Wide*, have been added. (*When taking pictures, the optional PT-E01 underwater housing must be attached.)
Instructions on installing the updated firmware can be found on Olympus' website.
