Pentax USA has introduced a new release slated to ship this October, in the form of the Optio S60 digital camera.

The S60 features what looks to be the same body, lens and feature set as the existing Optio S45 and S55 models, but with two notable changes. The image sensor has been updated from the four and five megapixel CCDs of the earlier cameras, to a six megapixel type. A related change is that the ISO sensitivity ratings have been changed from the old models, and are now 80, 160, 320 and 400 (the highest sensitivity remaining the same).

The Pentax Optio S60 will arrive in October with pricing for the US market set at under $300.
