Sony Corp. has posted an interview on its website that gives an interesting look at the company's strategy and plans for its digital SLR product line.

Sony Corp. Senior General Manager (AMC Division, Digital Imaging Business Group) Toru Katsumoto reveals one impressive strategy point in his interview. Over the coming year, Sony will apparently launch a whopping twenty new lens models - news which should go some way to reinforcing that the company won't be satisfied with any small role in the DSLR market. Instead, as Katsumoto-san notes,
"Our goal is to become the shin'uchi, or headline performer, of digital SLR cameras. In the traditional Japanese art of rakugo storytelling, the shin'uchi is the performer recognized by everyone as the undisputed master of his craft."
