annotation.gif Tow Releases Annoture, Timeatur Tools for Aperture
By Mike Pasini, The Imaging Resource
(Wednesday, October 25, 2006 - 12:26 EDT)

The two utilities enable metadata import and export between Aperture and iView MediaPro plus automatic Image Date field generation at import.

Adam Tow has updated his $15 Annoture application to version 1.0, adding support for MediaPro 3.x and Aperture 1.5 while improving copy speed from MediaPro to Aperture. At the same time, he has released Timeature, which can set the Image Date field of images on import to Aperture.

Annoture

Annoture provides two-way support for metadata between iView Multimedia's MediaPro asset management program and Apple's Aperture. It requries OS X 10.4.8 with Aperture 1.5 or later and iView Media Pro 2.6.4 or 3.1.1 or later.

Timeature

Timeature can set the import Image Date field automatically "from the EXIF shooting date of the image. If the imported file does not contain this EXIF information, Aperture will use the file creation date as the value for the Image Date field." The date is stored in Aperture's database, making no modifications to the original master file.
