Pentax Japan has today posted firmware updates for several of its single-lens reflex digital camera models.

Firmware version 1.02 for the Pentax K100D, K110D, *ist DS2, and *ist DL2, as well as version 1.03 for the *ist DL, and version 2.02 for the *ist DS all have the same common change. Compatibility with Secure Digital High Capacity cards (alternately known as SDHC, or Secure Digital 2.0) added in the previous versions of firmware for each camera has been improved.

The firmware is currently available on Pentax Japan's website, along with instructions for installation. As always, we'd recommend readers only to install firmware issued in the region where their camera was purchased. At this time, Pentax USA has not issued equivalents to the new firmware released in Japan.
