New website demystifies DSLR photography
By Michael R. Tomkins, The Imaging Resource

University student Marc Harrington dropped us an email this week with news of an interesting new site he created as a university project.

Marc describes Pictorio.us, currently launched in alpha form, as "an interactive guide to Digital SLR photography". The site offers quite a range of information in a very approachable format. You'll find details on such topics as ISO sensitivities, shutter speeds, depth of field and more - as well as advanced topics such as high dynamic range photography. There's also a neat section describing the parts of a typical digital SLR, and how it works as a whole. A gallery section lets you browse through example images on Flickr - either restricting them to just those from Pictorio.us or from all Flickr users.

All in all, a pretty useful site for anybody who wants a fun way to learn a little more about their digital SLR. Our congratulations to Marc on the launch!
