TORRANCE, Calif. (JULY 18, 2007) - General Imaging, the worldwide exclusive licensee for GE-branded digital cameras, today announced that Jaacx Distributors will distribute the company's new camera line in Latin America.

Miami-based Jaacx will make the GE cameras available to other distributors, photographic retailers, consumer electronics dealers and other resellers throughout the region.

Initial shipments of the stylish new camera line - the first digital shooters to carry the GE brand - are now reaching Jaacx to further deepen the company's reach to Latin American resellers. North American retailers began stocking the products in late May.

"We're delighted to have Jaacx as the authorized master distributor for GE digital cameras in Latin America," said Hiroshi "Hugh" Komiya, chairman and CEO of General Imaging. "Latin America is an enormous market, and with its powerful reach, Jaacx will play an important role as we expand into this market."

Rene Buhay, General Imaging vice president of sales, North America, said the deal with Jaacx means that GE cameras will be in Central America, South America and the Caribbean even sooner than hoped. "The contract with Jaacx came about very quickly," he said. "As a result, Latin American consumers will be able to see the excellent quality and superior features of the GE cameras this summer."

Joe J. Atick, president/CEO of Jaacx Distributors, said, "Everybody knows the GE name stands for quality, and these cameras are sure to be a big hit. They look great, they have the features consumers are looking for, and the prices are excellent. We are delighted to add them to our lineup."

Even at the entry level, the GE cameras include features one would expect from a much more expensive camera, starting with the A730's 7 megapixels of resolution, 3x optical zoom, and a 2.5-inch LCD screen. Models at the higher end feature up to 12 megapixels, up to 12x zoom, and 3-inch screens. In the middle is the E850, which adds wide-angle capability to its long list of features.

The cameras boast sleek and intuitive design, plus a host of popular, advanced functions as standard features, including face detection, image stabilization, red-eye removal, ISO 1600 sensitivity, and panorama stitching. More information about GE cameras is available at www.ge.com/digitalcameras.

An independent new company based in Torrance, Calif., General Imaging unveiled eight GE-branded cameras on March 8 in Las Vegas during PMA 07, the imaging industry's leading trade show.
