An article on how to choose your second (or third or fourth) lens...

Today we have an article that's been languishing in my editorial inbox for months, that I finally used some plane time on my quasi vacation this week to finish off. Which lens should you buy next? The answer obviously depends on how you shoot and how much money you have. This article will help you make the decision, as it discusses a number of common lens types that many amateurs might consider for the next lens to add to their kits.

Meanwhile, this is a working vacation, and I'm hoping to make some progress on the backlog of lens tests that we still haven't posted results for. These include an inexpensive Nikon 70-300mm tele zoom, the Nikon 50-200mm VR zoom (amazing that they managed to cram in VR for such a low price), and the new Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L II, which looks to be a noticeable improvement over its predecessor. Also a nice 28-75mm f/2.8 from Tamron and an ultra-sharp 70mm f/2.8 macro from Sigma. (Vacation? What vacation?) Stay tuned, there'll be more test results posted shortly.
