tape-rawfud.jpg PRESS RELEASE: RawWorkFlow Publishes 'Raw without Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt' Video Guide

Michael Tapes Creates an Easy and Rewarding Tutorial for Taking Better Photographs Using Raw

MELBOURNE, Fla. -- Sept. 26 -- RawWorkFlow.com, producers of the popular series of WhiBal Certified Gray Cards, is introducing a new video tutorial that makes shooting Raw so easy and natural that photographers and enthusiasts alike will wonder why they ever used any other camera mode. Produced and narrated by company founder Michael Tapes, Raw without Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt, explains why Raw should be the preferred shooting mode and how photographers can maximize information captured by their digital camera easily and without stress or fear.

Available as a download or DVD-ROM, the instructional video offers easy-to-follow steps for capturing images in Raw and how to use some of the latest and most popular Raw conversion software products available on the market including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom 1.1 and Adobe Camera Raw 4.1 (CS3).

Throughout the video Michael Tapes breaks down every aspect of the Raw shooting process and demystifies the complication and frustration surrounding the Raw workflow. "Raw without FUD is for those suffering from the symptoms of JPEG Withdrawal'," says Tapes, an industry expert in the Raw workflow process. "With Raw we are assured that all the information a camera is capable of gathering is at our disposal for development and any exposure or White Balance errors are simple to correct. Once people understand how to handle Raw images, they will realize that the technique is actually faster and easier than shooting JPEG and with superior results."

Offering approximately six hours of instructional video, the DVD (and download version) is Mac- and Windows-compatible and will play on any computer with Adobe Flash Player installed in the user's Web browser. The annotated video is an ideal learning tool for several types of users including photographers who remain unconvinced of the advantages to be gained by shooting in Raw mode; Raw shooters who are still apprehensive and uncertain about Raw conversion applications; and JPEG shooters who are afraid to make the leap to the Raw format.

The Raw without Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt Video Tutorials are now available and will be priced at $34.95 (download version) and $49.95 (DVD with "extras" disc). A special introductory discount of $5 will be offered through October. The "extras disk" (DVD version only) includes an additional two hour DVD dedicated to understanding and using Adobe's new Lightroom software. The DVD also includes RawWorkFlow.com's "instant gratification" download for immediate tutorials until the DVD arrives in the mail.

"The most important thing about shooting in Raw is to face it head-on and get started now," Tapes emphasizes. "My goal in creating Raw without FUD was to demonstrate that Raw mode is not as mysterious or as difficult as people seem to think. There are easy transition-paths so photographers can begin shooting now because once a photograph is taken in JPEG, all the details lost with that format are lost forever."
