First test images from Nikon D300 posted! By
Zig Weidelich (Tuesday, November 20, 2007 - 18:54 EST)Wouldn't you know it, our full production sample of the Nikon D300 arrived right in the middle of digicam "crazy season" for us, and also right as we're all getting ready to take off for the Thanksgiving holiday here in the US.
We did get a couple of our standard shots taken with the Nikon D300 today (thanks to Luke for the extra push), and we should have another batch of test images shot with it tomorrow, including our Still Life test, which will show a variety of things, including color rendition, tone-on-tone rendering vs noise reduction, fine detail, highlight handling, and shadow detail and noise levels.
We should have the complete set of D300 test images shot and uploaded by the the end of the day Friday, and image analysis posted sometime next week, hopefully early in the week. No question, this is one of the most anticipated cameras of the year, check out the images in our Nikon D300 Preview to see for yourself how it's looking thus far.
