Printer Review: Kodak EasyShare 5500 All-in-One By
Mike Pasini, The Imaging Resource (Wednesday, December 19, 2007 - 18:02 EST)While we didn't have any more luck with the 5500's firmware than we did with the 5300, we did learn a good deal more about Kodak's new pigment inks and its touch-less printhead design.
Our diary of the Kodak EasyShare 5300 never did wrap itself up politely. Waiting for the Mac version of its firmware update, we returned the unit when the larger 5500 version with fax capability arrived. We didn't want to be outnumbered.
The firmware on the 5500 was no easier to deal with, unfortunately, but the highlight of our 5500 review is the background information we picked up on the ink technology and printhead design during our recent visit to Rochester. Now that's a fascinating story.
