Sunex logo. PRESS RELEASE: Sunex Lauches New Panoramic Dewarper Software

LAS VAGAS, January 31, 2008 -- Sunex, Inc. a leading manufacturer of high quality digital imaging lenses announces today the introduction of panoramic dewarper software capable of producing high quality panoramic pictures while minimizing and controlling distortion.

The new Sunex Dewarper DSLR software is a Photoshop plug-in filter for correcting distortion and optimizing wide angle picture shots. This powerful tool is capable of creating a panoramic image up to 180° horizontal field of view from a single fisheye shot.

Until now, most commonly used software dewarpers assume lenses followed idealistic equidistant angle mapping. Based on its expertise with real-world fisheye lenses, Sunex has developed a new proprietary algorithm to represent the mapping function of commercially available fisheye lenses. This enables a more accurate representation of the distortion properties of the user's specific lens. The result is a true panoramic picture where distortion can be minimized or adjusted to accomplish spectacular creative effects.

Versatile, the software algorithms support most Sunex, Canon, Nikon, Sigma and Peleng fisheye lenses for Canon, Nikon and Sony DSLR cameras. In addition, Dewarper DSLR is compatible with any image editor capable of using Photoshop compatible plug-ins such as Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and higher versions, Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 and higher versions and Corel PaintShop Pro 7 and higher versions.

Sunex Dewarper DSLR™ plug-in filter is availa ble at an introductory suggested retail price of $99; but is at no charge with the purchase of any Sunex Superfisheye™ lens. Sunex Superfisheye™ products can be orders online at www.superfisheye.com
