Tripod Center Column Converts to a Full Featured Monopod

Las Vegas, NV - Sunpak, a division of ToCAD America Inc. announces three new Sunpak Tri-Monopods with an industry innovation of incorporating a standard size monopod into a full featured tripod. This unique and exciting design feature allows the photographer to travel with his tripod and when the situations arise that a tripod is just not suited for the environment, the monopod feature can be exercised within seconds. Perfect for when space is limited for a full size tripod or when you need to follow the action with freer access, but still need a stable platform. The new Tri-monopods are being displayed at PMA 2008, January 31 -- February 2 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth C187.

The Sunpak 6601TM tri-monopod is designed for use with today's latest DSLR cameras; it offers a 3-way pan head with ultra-smooth photo/video fluid-effect, separate locking controls, a bubble level and a quick-release mounting plate with retractable video indexing pin. It has a folded length of only 21.65", but extends to a comfortable working height of 58", yet it only weighs a mere 3 lbs. Its solid .86" D-shaped legs and center leg braces with separate locking knob assures rigid support, while heavy-duty rubber leg tips with retractable leg spikes keep the 6601TM tri-monopod firmly planted at all times. The flip lever leg locks make setup fast and easy. The gearless "lift-n-lock" center column permits fast height adjustments while also providing a tension control. With a maximum weight capacity of 4.4 lb, the Sunpak 6601TM tri-monopod is the perfect tripod for a photographer on the go with a new entry level DLSR camera.

The monopod feature of the Sunpak 6601TM tri-monopod can be set up in seconds with its easy to use five section leg. It can go from its compact size of 15.75" to its fully extended height of 61.4" with just a twist of its leg sections. And regardless of the terrain or surface, the 6601TM has a heavy-duty, non-slip rubber foot that keeps it planted for stability during shooting or panning.

The Sunpak 9002TM tri-monopod is designed for use with today's latest DSLR cameras with large zoom lenses. It offers a 3-way pan head with ultra-smooth photo/video fluid-effect pan head with separate locking controls, bubble level and quick-release mounting plate with retractable video indexing pin. It has a folded length of only 22", but extends to a tall working height of 58". It weighs only 3.3 lbs and its solid .98" D-shaped legs and center leg braces with separate locking knob assures rigid support. The heavy-duty rubber feet with retractable leg spikes keep the 9002TM steady regardless of the surface. The flip lever leg locks make setup fast and easy, even when wearing gloves. The gearless "lift-n-lock" center column allows for fast height adjustment and load control. With a maximum weight capacity of 6.6 lb, the Sunpak 9002TM tri-monopod is the perfect tripod for a photographer with a DSLR with a long zoom lens.

The monopod feature of the Sunpak 9002TM can be set up in seconds with its easy to use five section leg. It can go from its compact size of just 15.75" to its fully extended height of 61.4" with just a twist. And regardless of the terrain or surface the monopod is used on, the heavy-duty, non-slip rubber foot stays put for stability during shooting.

The Sunpak 757TM tri-monopod combines innovative engineering, rugged construction, and a full complement of advanced features at an outstanding value for a professional tripod. Based on a unique asymmetrical 1.4" leg design, it provides exceptional torsional rigidity and added stability at any height up to 72.9". The 757TM tri-monopod is further enhanced with its oversized, ergonomically designed flip lever leg locks, locking center column leg braces and heavy-duty articulated rubber leg tips with retractable spikes.

In addition, the 757TM tri-monopod offers a 3-way fluid-effect panhead with adjustable extension pan handle and panhead complemented by the graduated 360 scale markings for photo or video indexing for panoramic shots or reference. The 3-way panhead also offers separate fully calibrated tilt friction controls for quick and easy setup in the field or studio while the quick release plate with a video indexing pin and bubble level make setting up and changing cameras a snap.

The monopod feature of the 757TM tri-monopod can also be set up in seconds with its easy to use, oversize five section leg. It can go from 23" to its fully extended height of 64.4" with just seconds.
