Fujifilm, Nintendo offer photo printing service By
Michael R. Tomkins, The Imaging Resource (Thursday, July 24, 2008 - 14:09 EDT)Japanese companies Fujifilm Corp. and Nintendo Co. Ltd. yesterday announced a new photo printing service for the Nintendo Wii gaming console.
The new "Wii Digicam Print Channel" is available immediately for Wii owners located in Japan, and allows the uploading of images from SD cards in order to receive a variety of customised photo products - prints, business cards and photo books. Fujifilm is handling the order fulfillment, with products and prices being as follows:
Photo print - L / 3R sized (127 x 89mm / 5" x 3.5"), ¥30 including tax
Business card - Standard Japanese business card (91 x 55mm / 3.6" x 2.2"), ¥500 including tax for a set of 30 cards
Photo book -
A4, 6-page ring bound (297 x 210mm / 11.7" x 8.3"), ¥2,480 including tax
Square, 20-page ring bound (152 x 152mm / 6" x 6"), ¥1,575 including tax
These prices don't include shipping, and the press release notes that international shipping is not guaranteed. No news as yet on whether the companies plan to offer a similar service in other countries.
