An article from Bloomberg.com reports that Bill Gates, chairman and co-founder of Microsoft Corp., has recently increased his investment in Eastman Kodak Co.

The Gates-owned Cascade Investment LLC purchased almost 8 million Kodak shares late last year, according to the report. Bloomberg notes that this raises Gates' overall Kodak stake to 5.2%, making him the company's fourth-largest investor as of December 31st, 2008. The article further states that the Kodak stake is the ninth-largest Cascade holding. The largest investments held by Gates through Cascade include a Canadian railroad, a North American waste management firm, and a Latin American beverage company.
