EXILIM to be Official Camera Line of the BIG EAST Men’s Basketball Tournament

DOVER, NJ, MARCH 10, 2009 — Casio America, Inc., in conjunction with its parent company, Casio Computer Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, today announced the exclusive sponsorship of the high speed EXILIM camera line as the “Official Cameras of the BIG EAST Men’s Basketball Tournament” beginning March 10, 2009 at Madison Square Garden.

Casio’s high speed EXILIM line features the only consumer cameras in the world fast enough to keep up with the frenzied pace of the BIG EAST Tournament. From fast breaks to full court presses, Casio’s cameras are designed to capture it all.

“The Casio EXILIM line is proud to be a sponsor of the BIG EAST Tournament,” says John Homlish, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Casio America, Inc.  “We are honored to provide members of the BIG EAST with EXILIM digital cameras that can capture high-speed images of top student-athletes competing for the title in the nation’s best collegiate basketball conference.”

“We are thrilled that Casio has come on board as the ‘Official Cameras of the BIG EAST Championship Tournament,’” says Michael Tranghese, BIG EAST Conference Commissioner. “As Casio officially joins our group of tournament sponsors, we look forward to a highly successful tournament and partnership with the cutting-edge company.”

The EXILIM line of digital cameras is known for its industry-leading technology beginning with its super slim point-and-shoot digital cameras.  The company has moved from the megapixel wars into a new category which is changing the digital camera game – HIGH SPEED.  Casio’s EX-F1 and EX-FH20, shooting up to 60 frames per second and up to 1,200

frames per second in video, created an entirely new demand for cameras that can capture action faster than the human eye and can be played back in slow motion.  In January, Casio introduced the newest additions to the HIGH SPEED LINE – the EX-FC100 and EX-FS10.  The new pocket-sized digital cameras are capable of shooting burst modes up to 30 frames per second (fps) and record video up to 1,000 fps, making blurred images of athletes a thing of the past.
