PRESS RELEASE: The Plugin Site Announces the Postcard Contest 2009

The Plugin Site (http://www.thepluginsite.com) is pleased to announce the Postcard Contest 2009. It gives people worldwide the chance to unleash their creativity by creating and writing postcards. In our age of communication everyone is using email, text messages or messengers to spread written words. The good old postcard is used less and less and seems to get out of fashion. So we want to remind people that it still exists and that it has its benefits.

Contest Conditions

There are two contest topics: Best Purchased Postcard and Best Created Postcard. The first contest category asks people to buy a postcard at their place and write a witty or humorous message on its back. The message can be written in any language. An interesting stamp on the back and other applied decorations may receive extra points. For the second category people should create a postcard of their own. They can use a self-taken photo of their city/neighborhood or any other interesting photographic or artistic subject. As in the first category not only the picture of the postcard is judged, but also the message and additional decorations.

There is no limit to the number of postcards that a participant can send in. All postcards that arrive by Aug. 31 will participate in the contest. A jury of experts will then elect the winners.

Prizes

Twenty prizes consisting of 57 software products and five books worth more than a total of USD 3500 are offered to the winners. The 7 best postcards of each contest category receive a prize. But there are also six consolation prizes.

Here is a list of available prizes: OnOne Photo Tools 2, Alienskin Exposure and Bokeh, nik Viveza, IPX Paint Engine, AVBros Curl Pro & Puzzle Pro, DFT Light, Ozone and Power Stroke, Benvista PhotoMagic, PhotoZoom Pro 2 and PhotoArtist, FilterForge Standard, ThePluginSite ContrastMaster and Plugin Galaxy, Frames and Borders from Photoshopgraphics.co.uk, Xero Plugins, Neat Image Pro, Namesuppressed Plugins, DOF PRO, Redfield Fractalius, AFH FilterMeister, SF Maskerade & SF ColorMixer Pro, Foksmarx recolorST, Andrews Plugins & Shape Collections from Graphicxtras, Photo Purify and Photoshop books from O'Reilly.

The exhibition will start in October 2009. Even postcards that have not received a prize may have the chance to be exhibited in the museum.
